Against the Lifting of Sanctions
(Letter)
5 June 04 Dear Editor
Since Gyude Bryant left Liberia to attend the UN conference
to plead for the lifting of the sanctions on Liberia, I have been
seaching foe news from Liberia, Liberians websites abroad, civil
society, political parties and human rights organizations to speak
out against,or in favour. Few months ago, Bryant told the Liberian
people that he could not appoint people in the counties, because
he would love to see his people before making any appointment.
Bryant has not visited his people as he promised, but he wants for
UN to lift sanctions on Liberia in order for him to help those he
has not seen them for century. What a man? Mr.Bryant, according to
his chair Council of Economic Advisor, Mr Harry .Greaves, is
waiting for EU to audit his National Bank Governor, Elais
Saliebee. Bryant who could not manage the little Monrovia to pay
the government employees, because of the same corruption in his
government, wants to help the peolpe of Liberia. Really?
Thanks,
Menker Casey
